Here is the update on the vats day get together for the Year 2011.
Date : 25th December,2011
Venue: Hotel Vijay Park,Arumbakkam,Chennai-106.

This time there were many first timers from 96 batch to 2002
Arul and Anantharaman were forutunetly in chennai during this time, but due to some constraints..they both couldn’t make it

All the members were on ontime, except for me, mochi and Vignesh, i came at 1 pm, mochi was in by 2 pm and then vinesh was the last guy to arrive. It was really nice to see the guys( Voothani Aravind, Sridhar,Sajeesh & Sunderasan )

Mochi and Dwaraka were the Senior most members of the Vats Day 2011, they were from 95 passed out batch, they both are in chennai and they never miss the vats day event, because it was the only day
where they both get to meet eachother.

Thanks to Mochi and Dwarka for their consistency and like wise Ananth,Bala Ganesh and Sajeesh have also never fail to make it up for the event.

So After the introduction round was over, we didn’t have any events as such planned and so we decided to go for lunch and end the event, the time was almost 2:30. Meanwhile the kids were having good time. Menanka had a plan of conducting a event for the couples along. We had some rubber bands and straws. The event was like first the wife’s had to put rubber bands to their husbands and second the husband’s have to decorate their wife’s head with the straws.
The Event came to out be great fun.

Here is the vats makkal update on Sabari’s reception. His marriage was on 31st Oct at karaikal. Only Arivu and Vignesh attended the Marriage.

Since the reception was on Saturday, Few of the vatsmakkal planned and were able to make to the reception.
The original plan had the following people

But due some reasons muthu,sajeesh and PC were not able to make it.
PC’s Reason for not coming – “machi office le sudden aa.. Audit Raid vandhu duchu, so i am still in the office,sorry da..!”
Arivu and vignesh opted for train to reach villupuram, as arivu was near egmore and vignesh was at tambaram.
myself,philip and manickam opted for bus from Koyembedu, and senthil kumar joined us on the way in the same bus. it took 4 hrs to reach villuparam (because it was heavily raining at chennai and traffic jam due to rain) and we reached the reception hall at 8:30 pm. But arivu and vignesh reached by 7 pm (it took only 2 and half hrs for them by train).
Sabari and Vidhya were looking great on the stage.

We spent around 1 and half hour at the reception hall. left back to chennai at around 9:45 pm. I Reached home by 3 am.

Dear Vatsmakkale,

here is the update on our gettogether,this time also we made it as family event.we had good number from our vats.
Event : Vats Get Together 2010

It was around 6:45 pm, i started and reached the hotel by 7:15 pm, Sathya was aleady present there, so i and sathya went to the Hall in the basement, we found that there were already some number present, it was anath and family.

so arjun (11 months old) was already on stage accompanied by his sister & cousins. Along with them were sajeesh and sreevidhya ,sajeesh was not sure of attending,but somehow made it (thanks to sajeesh and sreevidhya)

Now we joined them, and waiting for other members to arrive,then came mochi and dwaraka along with his family.
By now rakshana my kid also joined the company of arjun & co.

Next came in shankar,balaganesh,sabari,murugesh and finally our latest vats batch students from bangalore (Thanks to balaji,satishkumar and haribabu). It was almost 7:45, and we started the event with a small self introduction round. The interesting part of this round was “sajeesh saying,i am married and have one wife ” and followed by murugesh brefing about the father-son-grandson concept (Sabari-murugesh-haribabu).

Next,we started of with a game of “Identify the person” by a phrase given against them… it was really fun.. all of them enjoyed.., i think the easiest one was
” Knows psychology as people call him ” –?
its our psycho..(sajeesh )
once the participant identifies the name, he has to get signed by the concerned person.

Here is the small update on psycho’s marriage.., as i was late for the marrriage (missed the muhurtham), i couldn’t get more photos.

before marriage in bachelor life we use to muhurtham because of night hang over.., but after marriage we miss it means.. its family responsibility..

it was really nice.. attending psycho’s marriage, only aalu (was not feeling well) from our batch missed the marriage (among the guys in india ). The previous day..when i called psycho , he told me that.. “oru surprise irrukhu..when you come to marraige..”. i was able to realize that surprise when i started to search him on the stage. As i entered he marriage hall, my first look was at the stage, i found someone else standing beside sreevidhya and then i myself made sure whether i have entered the correct mandapam only…yes it was the right mandapam. Then only i realized that namba thalaivar was having a new hairstyle. So payan kalakaran . he looked as when i met for the first him the college administrative building..(while joining 1st year,1995 ).

Hi vats makkale,
here is the small update on our get together

Event : Vats Get Together 2009
Date : 25th December
Venue : @Benz Park, T Nagar, Chennai
Start Time : 6:30 pm
End Time : 11:00 pm

This vats day was organised by Anantharaman, with the help of his friend sathish kumar, actually
till dec 24th we didn’t have the plan of meeting, then mochi had sent a mail asking “r we going to
meet this vats day..” , and so we had the get together, but mochi was caught up with some busy
schedule.
This time, Sabari (who’s status is now committed ) had also joined, he has joined HCL,Navalur in
Chennai, i was person who came last to the get together., as my kid kept me always busy..busy…
we started off our party with some soups and starter’s, then this time the high light of our pungi
session was Namba P C, karthik narrated various incident’s he met P C after the college days.
and of course .. i am sure that, everyone among us will certainly have at least one unforgettable

moment with P C

here is one more incident.. this happened in our hostel.. one of the north indian guy after

searching P C for a long time finds him and asks

…” hey chandran, thu kidhar tha yaar… ? mein thuje.. doond rahaa tha..”

Karthik and sabari.. say that.. still they get night mares about our vrce life ,
karthik’s client one day had asked him.. ” what..? you have still cleared your degree ..? “
and similarly..for sabari.. whenever the bangalore weather sync’s with our VRCE weather condition
he used to get night mares..in between the dicussions was our Humurous guy.. Ravikumar’s valuable comments..have you guys ever noticed..? during our ragging period, the first thing we were asked to do were
to comment about a person instantenously after seeing a person.. , now these things.. have become
an application in almost all kinds of social networking systems and blogs..we then called up archi, and cheenu… had fun with them.. as soon as we called up cheenu (he was in bangalore ) ,sathya asked him spell out his famous galli….which he all wanted to hear as he was on sathya’s speaker phone.

then namba archi(anandh) oda.. ore ragala..dhan…(over phone)! sajeesh told archi that. “enna oye..nee illayme.. L & T -ye.. saanji.. kadaku-nu…” instant comment from namba saami-G (“nalla pakkama dhana..saanji irrukhu…” ) apparam namba killi pathi.. konjam neeram pungi… one of the instance how he is to call venkat (hope you remember the dhoordarshan camera person at nagpur ,whose use to come to our hostel)
(~~ஒ..~~ வென்கட்,….. வாங்கா உகாருன்க ஒய் ….)

one more thing… namba ..psycho. naduvale.. kaanamma poitaan.. he was absconding with his phone
for nearly 15-20 mins.. enna matter-nu theriyale.. ketta… onnum illay solli mazhupitan…! also most busiest bee of this margazhee.. season namba P.Ananthu also was able to join us… as usual.. from starting irundhu.. ore sirripu dhan…!

And currently there is no state wise quota for NIT’s, its now open all over india – one single common enterance exam AIEEE So what happen to our VATS Register..? ,do you remember what you had written in that register..? just try to recall..!

Hi Vats makkale,
Its again was a meeting chance for the vats makkal to meet at Masthan’s (L Sheik Masthan Sha ) at Trichy.
Here is the update who all missed it, it was on saturday night, I, psycho , philip and his wife (ida) went boarded the train(Rameshwaram Exp) to the Trichy (which reaches trichy at untime , around 2 :10 am in the morning. Any we had informed masthan, about our comming and he had made some arrangement for accomodation near the bus stand.
So as soon as we got in the train, the last bay(72 – 64 ) was.. empty.. none of them were occupied, see that, i told psycho “Machi..inghe ye unkundulam da..” because our bay where we had our confirmed tickets were fully crowded. Yes, the problem was the confusion that prevailed among all about the newly inserted birth (Side Middle Birth – SMB), and this was the reason for which the last bay was not occupied by none , because for each bay.. there should be only 8 persons (not considering the SMB) instead people all settled counting 9 persons per birth. Once things..were settled.. we had..some memories of train journey’s when used to travel.. during our return and onward journey’s during our college winter and summer vacation’s and also some update to Ida about our vats makkal’s masthi..etc..etc.. and then we had nice dinner ,which ida & philip had prepared for us from their house.., Thanks to Ida & philip for the Tasty dinner.
As usual namba psycho ku oru kutti ponnu friend aayidichu..! Apparam ..enna namba pyscho uncle ore masthi dhan..! majic show. , and confusism..dhan..( trying to confuse the kid by interrupting her conversion in his own style.. )

Before sleeping., i had psycho had recalled the “Setting up alam clock event” while we went to arivu’s marriage, because the train which we boarded to arivu’s marraige also reached around 2 am

On reaching the TP Jucntion, Ida’s relative had come there and they left with them hiring an auto, meanwhile i and psycho enquired for auto how much he would charge to take us to the neay by bus stand., (we knew that bus stand is not even half a km) he said..50 rs.. ) ,that was too much and ..so we decided to go by walk..(thinking. that.. naanga..ellam..ethana.. treking..poi vandhu irrukhum…..! idhu ellam enna .Ju Ju bi…) then auto driver came behind us..reducing his charge… sir.. 40 rs.. then.. 30 rs.. .Chance eh.. illay..poya.. sollittom..!

So morning we had take a bus from trichy bus stand to BHEL training center, that was the venue for sheik’s marraige. As we went to the bus stand and enquired for the buses.. we came to know that. all the buses enroute to Thanjavur would pass through this stop. But the conductor did not allow us to get into the bus, instead what he said was.. “Bus Kelambam podhu yerikhonga..” so nanga..nica.. got into the next bus which was standing behing and sat at the Last (one single long back seat..) , as the toad was not proper condition.. we enjoyed the first speed breaker, which threw us to hit the top of the bus..in the sitting posistion itself “eppa thapichoom…” then from there..onwards.. when ever we saw the next speed breaker.. “Machi ..u…ss..saaar..ra.. ezhundhu irchi ninnu koda..”

Finally we reached the Venue at 10:30 , Philp and Ida also reached in the next five mins. Then came Maapla (Masthan) alone , he was fully covered with pardha..he himself was not able to see , 3-4 people were holding him.. and bring down the steps .. (For a oorvalam) The oorvalam was led with Grand Musical Party.

After the oorvalam was over , masthan was alone brought to the stage, then read out some verses.. .. and all other things we done.. with maapale alone on the stage,

these things took around 20-30 mins.. then after that.. all stood up and received the sweet bunch..

This was the first muslim marraige i am attending…, and so it is done this way.. ,when maapale.. is brought to stage and performs his rights and rituals , parallely.. it is done with.. the bride.

I don’t know to many of our vats makkal received the invitation. As the marriage hall was easily reachable to me ,as it is in Annanagar i along with Menaka attended Chinna Maadu’s marriage.

Vats 98 Reunion at Connecticut

Hi ,
Vats 98 batch had a great time when they met after 9 years, Imagine how it would be ,when you meet your good old friends with whom you have shared your room during your college days..! Not words to say..!

Yes this happened with this batch, among the 13 members of the batch 6 of them were able to meet again , they are Girish Janakiram (mottai) , Sridhar Pichumani (pondy), Subasanthar Thiruvasagam (vettiyan), Anantharaman KalayanRaman (kuku) and the hosts -> Prashanth (kaka) & Vidhya.

Now all have changed completely, Girish has become bit fat.. Sridhar is the guy who has changed a lot, from top to belly..and ofcourse antharaman has also changed.. , But insipite.. Suba remained as same when we him.. when he entered college..

So it all happened at Prsanth – vidhya’s house at Cheshire in Connecticut, Two days of relaxation ,had great time & Fun ,and in between they had called me and Sajeesh to make our presence feel in the group.

This time we had nice time as our vats men’s party turned out be a Family event.
We had our senior most member Pandian and the junior most guys from 2006 passed out.
Unfortunately ilango and sathya who had confirmed their presence couldn’t make it.
Ok let me give you the list

So that was the list.
It was me and menaka who first arrived to the hotel at around 6 pm,and we were waiting in the reception I was able to find namba pondy of karthik’s batch A N Kumar, he joined us. Then next came
our ” Iya “, hope you remember this name, its none other than Dwaraka (pondy from mochi’s batch), he came along with his wife and 2 sons (yuvan and charan ). Now we moved to the hall and were waiting for others to arrive. Then came one by one, Mochi had brought some gift items to the kids,so that they too had some fun ,as all of them arrived it was now time to get to know each other , so we started with the intro session with our perum thalaivar pandian, introducing himself,his wife and their kids.. and this continued with rest of them.

As this was the first time we have planned for a family,we thought of some fun games, So our think tank (ananth) came up with a game – Passing the Dumb Charads , we had the teams split up in a random manner. and enjoyed playing this game, it was real fun.
Thanks for karthik for a quick game plan. In meantime, the kids were really having their own time.As dwaraka had to attend his own company’s get-together he and his family left by around 8 pm.

Next we thought why not we have some hip-hop .. So Ektha came up with another game somewhat similar to the musical chair,So it was really a nice game. Meanwhile all the kids were having nice time at microphone… singing rhyms,welcoming .. “hello ..hello.. ” they enjoyed themselves.

Our hero of this event was A N Kumar’s son – Arun Balaji (2 and half yr old), from the moment the music started, he was in full enthu…and was non-stop dancing.

We shared our wonderful college days ,ragging period ,seniors and juniors list..and some of the college days’ photos,the life before marriage and after marriage.

All the ladies in the get together also felt that..it was a good initiative from our side to make this event as family event.

I thank all the vats makkal for making this event enjoyable.
